INTERNATIONAL LAW AND INTERNATIONAL MATTERS

 

On international law including representation at the ICJ and all international courts and tribunals, Barrister Anna Uukelo's hourly rate is £700 per hour and/or, on straightforward international matters including on English law advice, or on matters already in English courts including on English law, for a foreign client, with or without English solicitors instructed, she charges £500 per hour. Barrister Anna Uukelo does not charge fixed fees on  international law and international matters on advice or representation. She charges her hourly rates provided. No VAT is currently being charged or added on international law and international matters.


On public international law, Barrister Anna Uukelo offers advice and representations on international human rights, human rights, humanitarian law, climate change laws and adaptation, international crimes including genocide including international negotiations, murder; by providing advice, undertake fact-finding missions, advocacy and training to individuals, states, royalty, communities and NGOs. This requires competency, dedication, commitment, passion and patience, all of which barrister Anna Uukelo can provide.

Barrister Anna Uukelo can offer advice and representations on matters that have a human rights dimension (nationally or internationally) such as extradition, judicial reviews, actions against public bodies such as local authorities and, public and administrative law breaches.

On private international law she offers advice and representations to states and international companies/corporations on various matters including cross boarder commercial and banking issues, indemnities, guarantees, specialist knowledge of Investment Protection Act 2015 of South Africa and its impact on international law customary norms on international arbitration, unpaid international debts, enforcement of foreign court orders, challenging foreign decisions or foreign court orders in London, international debt recovery, matters in the London Court of International Arbitration and other international arbitrations.  

Timescales
Timescales for a case may vary depending on factors such as barrister Anna Uukelo’s availability, the type and complexity of the case, number of documents involved, any further information or documentation received, the need for additional documents, the other side’s approach and court/ tribunal waiting times.  
However, as a guide more straightforward advice cases including any written advice can be dealt within 14 days depending on her availability.  Non-straightforward advice cases may take 5 (five) weeks or more. If any matter is taking more than 5 weeks to be handled, you will be notified a week prior i.e at the 4th week or sooner, and a revised time scale will be agreed and a subsequently revised client care letter will be sent to you.
English Court hearings depend on the courts and whether your matter was already in court when you approached me.


Fees
The cost of instructing a direct access barrister Anna Uukelo will depend on many factors, including the complexity of your case, the number of documents involved, the urgency of the matter and her availability. 


A note

Barrister Anna Uukelo does not offer free consultation, except she is willing to offer a prospective client a 15-minute call to assess if she can assist you with your matter or 1 email reply to your query. She does not offer legal advice on this call or in her 1 email reply. However, should you insist upon continuing with the call beyond the free 15 minutes or continue to send her emails after your 1 email response, she will charge you for her time.

International travel including for Court or tribunal attendance:
You will always be charged for expenses unless you cover them yourself: air or rail travel, taxi/uber, suitable, safe and secure overnight stays at hotels for the duration of the visit or travel and meals.
 
Where a refresher fee is required on postponed or lengthy listings/ hearings or meetings, this will also be communicated to you in advance.
